Just as a matter of interest, is anyone round here using PowerPoint for presenting their work?

Not really. I did some at last job with a university's Facilities Planning department. I would usually export to a .wmf and then insert into PowerPoint.

I used to use it for school presentations. Since about a year I use html files for presentations, much easier to change stuff and no standard Microsoft clipgallery anymore. Just open Iexplore and make it fullscreen, works really good... 8)

I went to html as well. I would make .dwf of the CAD files and then have hyperlinks on the .dwf file to go to different pages.
One example that worked..
Had a site plan of the university and had each building as a hyperlink to another page with text, pictures and floorplans. Worked really well.

hi There

i have used PowerPoint for a presentation that turned out quite well
my Son's Mom walked me thru this and with her help it worked great.

PP can create a SlideShow that can incorporate:

Stills, Animations and 3d Panoramics (not sure exactly how) 360 twirl arounds

i am trying to get her to designate some of her Time to this Forum for PP
she is quite the Expert on this subject (which i know almost nothing about)

Thanks

I have a digital projector and use it and powerpoint to help teach

- Board tech drawing

- Design

- 2D CAD

- 3D CAD

- Image editing and illustration

It's like an electronic blackboard. Really good for showing complex
editing procedures like altering UCS in Acad etc

I use Autocad first to make 3D models. Then I make import in 3Dstudio, making animations. The PowerPoint is an easy way to make complex presentation, with images, movies, logos, sounds ... I think it’s great! I am building my web page, when it will be ready, maybe I will insert here a link to an example.

It is possible to turn a Power Point presentation in an exe file? I created a huge presentation containing about 20 ppt files, interconnected by links (buttons) so the speaker may dynamically change the order, according to the interest of the public. But if I go to a customer with my presentation, and it is no Power Point on that computer?
I am using PP 97.

Vizwhiz that sounds great. Can you find out the way to create this "3D panoramics"and tell as more about?

For information on 3D Panoramics, check out these links:

Mostly, they work with QuickTime and so far I haven't found a way to embed QuickTime movies within PowerPoint Slides. You can link to them and have QT fire up automatically but if anyone has discovered a slicker method I'd love to hear it.
