You don't need a back door. Open Autocad and instead of opening a drawing you just click on File, Recover; choose the drawing that gave you trouble and Autocad will do the work for ya!!

I get this message when I got thru Recovery....

INTERNAL ERROR: !U:\global\src\ObjectDbx\DB\IMP\src\dblayoti.cpp@9 7: ePermanentlyErased

I am thinking that it is a missing reference file...hence the need to go thru back door

What do you mean by "back door"?

Also, missing reference files do not cause errors like this, at least not by themselves. Did you try any of the other suggestions that I posted above? If so, what results did you get with each?

Let me ask you this: Do you in your computer or network server have a driver called: !U: and next; do you have a folder called: global\src\ObjectDbx\DB ETC?? Because if you don't, that means that you received the basic drawing from a different source (different company or likewise).. Then the most logical would be to contact them back and see if what you are missing or permantely erased is an external reference or other attachment that should have come along the drawing you received. (Otherwise I can't think of anything else that could make sense)

Let me ask you this: Do you in your computer or network server have a driver called: !U: [COLOR=Black]and next; do you have a folder called: [COLOR=Red]global\src\ObjectDbx\DB ETC?? Because if you don't, that means that you received the basic drawing from a different source (different company or likewise)..

That is false information. The path info you quote in red is related to internal source files for the program itself. It has nothing to do with a missing path to a reference file.

As stated above, missing reference files do not cause fatal errors.
