View Full Version : Scale of materials?

When you're attaching materials for rendering, how do you control the scale? Say I'm trying to put shingles on a roof -- AutoCAD has a "shingles" pattern in the standard material library, but when I apply it, I see about two shingles on the whole roof. Is there a setting I'm missing?
(I had *no* idea how easy it is to make things look REALLY cool with just a little material application...my boss is going to LOVE this... :D)

Hi Kate,
its been a while since i have rendered with straight autocad, so bare with me.
under Mapping>Adjust co-ordinates>Adjust Bitmap, make sure the TILE tickbox is checked. this will then fill your 3d object with "tiles" of the image. you also control the size of the image that will be tiled here to.
Hope this helps

It's actually under "modify materials" in my version, but TILE was the answer (along with the image U/V scale)...if anybody needs more specific directions to find it in vanilla AutoCAD just ask...
Thanks David! :-D
(Yeesh, I get waaay too excited about all this...:-))
