I am very new here and have been learning from the best of you on how ACAD 2000 works..And I made this gear in a different way than the other tutorial was done by I think it was Fuccaro..

65

66

In the first photo i created the gear profile using the 2Dgear lisp and copied and moved the second gear profile
in the second image I created a solid cylinder..green...exploded the two gear profiles and then recreated a poly line on each profile of one complete tooth

67

Then with surftab1 set at 60, I rulesurf the two poly lines

68

69

I tried several different places to put the UCS to use the m2s lisp properly..It finally worked at about the midpoint along the surf grid..Using the m2s lisp I made the solid in the second photo..the UCS in the second photo did not work properly with the m2s lisp but it did with the placement in the first photo

71

I then arrayed the 20 red solids and then subtracted the 20 red solids away from the green cylinder and that finished it..I have a 2.8 pentium proccesor on this computer and on the final subtraction of the solids it took about 45 seconds for it to calculate it out for the final gear..Mike

Good clean tutorial, easy to follow. Howabout recording your next one using the Windows Media Player encoder ?

You could have done it without LISP stuff. Using RULESURF for a surface version or EXTRUDE and path.

Thank you Mr.T for the compliment...There is one thing that I learned fast on Autocad...there is many ways to do the same thing..all of the other stuff has been a bit slow but steady...Your Ideas to do the gear are excelent..Now creating that media player..are you saying make a wmv.file like you did with the upload of images tutorial..?
