Viewport issues

I'm using AutoCAD Land enabled map 2007, and found this also happens in 2006. When i switch to ModelSpace in the ViewPort, the view zooms out to the objects extents. It happens randomly and varies layout to layout. I dont think i'm doing anything differently:?

One thing that causes that is the UCSFOLLOW variable.

Set it to 0 in each viewport to prevent it. (Locking the viewport would also work).

I checked the variable and it was already set to 0. I am continually needing to change the view, so its better unlocked...

when i switch to model space in the viewport, go to properties, and set the UCS Per ViewPort value to NO... Problem solved! Wow thats been bothering me for months!
