Organizing the Layers.

Currently I am drawing a complex building with a friend , however it gets confuse when we try to organise the layers such as doors, windows, walls, and all sorts of electrical cables and water pipes..


SO IN THIS PROJECT I FIRST TRIED TO ORGANISE BY
• LEVEL
• SIDE LOCATION
• OBJECT


SO MY QUESTION IS : IS THERE ANY OTHER FORM TO ORGANISE BETTER THIS LAYOUT SPACE?

In the U.S. the standard to follow is one adopted by the A.I.A. I'm sure the U.K. has a professional architectural group that has a published standard. The downside can be that these standards can be quite complex and some users find them needlessly cumbersome and difficult to use.
