I'm using 2000i and I've just spun my mouse wheel whilst in model space and it's shut down! Error message...Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0xbff921fb Exception at bff921fbh...we also are running LT 2000i which bombs out all the time! We run it on Windows 2000 pro. Does anybody know whats going on?
Cheers

Not sure about that error message, have you noted it all correctly?First thing to do is check your drawing for errors.I remember having problems myself with CAD2K when zooming in and out using my mouse wheel, but that was in paper space. It used to do with drawing having alot of hatching in.If you have a lot of hatching you could maybe freeze some of it while you work.

yes it is the correct error message, is 2004 more stable? We are thinking of upgrading soon.....

could be any number of things, open up the drawing as normal/repairing it and run the "audit" command on it, and say yes to fix any errors detected. sometimes this works
only time i've had autocad crash is when it chucks a fit because the printer is turned off.

Check the autodesk website but it's probably a video driver problem.

Before the crash situation type in STATUS and see what system resources are available.
PURGE the files.
Good luck

Well so far yes 2004 is alot more stable, thankfully I havent had a crash yet.It also has error reporting facility that will log when your drawing crashes and hopefully list the error message.
