Object visibility when inserting, rotating and moving.

I have a problem in that every time i insert, move or rotate an object it is not visible. up until recently if i was inserting an object onto a drawing, i could see it and would have no problem placing it where i require. However now when i insert an object i dont see it until the command is finished, this is most unhelful when i am trying to rotate an object to specific place. Pleas Help!
