The time on my computer always jumps ahead 5-11 mins, no matter how often i change it back. I have downloaded a program called "ClockWatch" and it works, but eventually i will have to pay for it, and I'm a tight wad when it comes to this stuff. Any suggestions?

That's really weird, I have sp2 and in the date and time properties window there is a internet time option where you can choose to synchronize the time automatically.

If you are on a network, your computer my by updating from the server, and its time may be off. We had that problem here for a while. As often as I would update the time on my desktop, when the next "top of the hour" rolled around, mine would be off again. You would have to have your IT people set up so that the server would use the time correction program.

At home I use nistime-32bit.exe, which is a free download from the U.S. National Bureau of Standards, at
http://tf.nist.gov/timefreq/service/its.htm

It sends out time signals from the cesium clocks at the Bureau of Standards and the U.S. Naval Observatory. Check the site; the program may be server-friendly, or another version of it may be available in a server-friendy version on that site.

Good luck.

P.S. Who makes the decision if this is the type of site to add to the "Useful Links" section of the forum?

-Someone like me, Moderator, will move it over.ta-

I am on a server, however nobody else is having these issues.

I tried the NISTIME previously but I will try it again, not too sure it will work with my existing time program.

thanks guys

The NISTIME server only allows periodic updates of at least 1 hour, which isn't often enough, but it is probably better than nothing.
