If I am unable to make a Polyline, this indicates that I have a break in my geometry somewhere, will someone please send me a sketch demonstrating how using grips will indicate where the break is? I am using v200i. When I make a sketch to be used in a Cad-
cam machine, like a Wire EDM. for example, my drawings MUST be pure, in that there can be no geometry breaks. I would appreciate it.
Thank you,
Karen

karen,
I don't think grips will help to show you where the break is....unless they are far enough apart...in which case you should see yourself the break is at that point.
What I do is change the colour of the end segment of the polyline, then join all the segments...where the new colour stops is where the break is, then Edit vertex and move the endpoint at the break to the end point of the next segment...and continue joining.....
Hope you could follow all that... :)

I can see what you mean by changing the line colors, I am thinking that the color will only take as far as the line runs? What I do not understand is "edit the vertex".
Thank you for your response,

By "edit vertex" he means (I think) use the command "Pedit>>Edit vertex (if it's a polyline) Could also grip, make the grip "hot" (red), then move it.
You might also try Pedit>>Multiple to joind multiple lines/arcs/polyline segments into one polyline; gaps can be closed by using a "fuzz factor" larger than the gap.

No, I do not follow that, but I thank you anyway.

What part don't you understand, we'll keep trying ...:)

Karen,
I think what CarlB was trying to say is that if type in "pe" at the command line,
then choose "m" for multiple,
select the lines that you want to join together (or get rid of gaps in),
choose "j" for join from the available commands,
then set the "fuzz factor" so that the amount would be larger than any gaps you have....
Example: I drew a number of lines in a diamond shape, but left a 1/4" gap between 2 end points of of one set of lines. Then entered "1" at the "fuxx factor" prompt and it closed the gap making the diamond into a four sided polyline......
Hopefully this helps a little......
