object shadows "disappearead"

Hi everybody,
i'm using autocad 2004 and has disappeared from viewing the "shadow" of the object as a rectangle while I'm moving it. It has also disappeared the dimensions while i'm choosing where to place it. How can i restore this "shadow"?

try looking at your dragmode, type dragmode in the command line and check that its set to either auto or on.
