I used to be able to do this.
Say I'm doing a poly line, hmm, da da, doing a ploy line...wait, I need to switch the UCS...and continue the poly line without starting and stopping the PL command.
How do I do that without shutting down the PL routine?

Are you thinking of using transparent commands by using an apostrophe, e.g 'zoom, while a command is in progress? I don't think it works for UCS though.

correct me if i'm wrong, but if you are drawing in 3d, don't you just tab to the next window...that you have set up a different ucs and carry on from there??

Yea, that's what I wanted, and yea, UCS doesn't work like that
