Aight, so i have a habit of doing multiple jobs at once... I find it's more efficient and since I work in the Landscape/Hardscape industry i tend to steal thing from other projects and drawings and whatnot...

anyway, i saved 2 of the 3 jobs i had up... i went to print the last job and then save it when...

CRASH.

i lost my job!! i immediatly opend AutoCAD and now... i dont knwo what to do.. the "Template" file that I use to create each drawing is blank... i was hoping there would be a recovery of it, but no luck..

is there a way to find this file?

any help is appriceated, mostly b/c it's friday and i dont want to have to re-draft the entire job :(

Check in the Options dialog for where your autosave files go, and how often they are autosaved.

This migh save you a little time :)

Oops... if forgot to mention...
when you find the autosave file, just rename the extension to .dwg and autocad will open be able to open it, it should not require a recovery.

fingers crossed, here we go... gunna do a search for these files.... AutoCAD was set up to auto-save every 120 minutes.... so im really really really hoping it saved them...

With today's high speed computers, you could set autosave to every 5 mins. You wont even know a save has occured it's so fast....:)

Agreed, you can lose an awful lot of work in 120 minutes.

and such is the case for me :(

the good news is, i was able to re-draft everything and make sure my autosave is turned down to 10 minutes.

And always remember that autosave is never as reliable as good ol' Ctrl-S!

Save early, save often -- save manually.
