What I would do is align my UCS with the rectangle. Type UCS then Enter. Next type OB then hit Enter. Now select one of the lines of your rectangle. Your UCS will align the XY plane with your rectangle. You can now dimension using the standard Linear Dimension.

Ionica,
If your drawing an Isometric not a 3D drawing then look to your Dimension Tool Bar, there pick Oblique, and sellect the dim you want to change, you will be prompted to enter an angle, choose between 30 90 or 150 Deg and see the change !!

I have a set of 6 linear rotated obliqued dimensions I use to dimension my isometrics. There are also many LISPs available to create isometric dimensions for you. I don't use them because they create aligned obliqued dimensions, and I find it frustrating and restrictive to have to have the dimensions node on the same Iso line all the time.
I Created 6 dimensions, one for each iso plane, and save then together as a block. You can then import them into the drawing, explode, and copy to where you need them.
I do hope AutoDESK realizes the 2d Isometrics are still used and will create a naitive dimension object for isometrics.

As far as I remember text aligns with the current XY part of the UCS.
