First time here. I have AutoCAD 2000. I don't have the money to upgrade to current version of AutoCAD. I tried IntelliCAD 6.2 program but it doesn't work properly due to many bugs in the program. I tried Turbo CAD 3D (a few versions before current version) but it doesn't have a feature similar to AutoCAD's command line. I rather type 100,100,100 than type 100, tab, 100, tab, 100. I am personal user. The new CAD program has to have 3D solid modeling. Any suggestions?

Up to $500. Upgrades if possible.

OK...here's one for $195 to $245 (US). The downloaded version is the cheaper of the two. It's called bCAD and you want version 3.91. Here's a link:

Of course, asking for 3D modeling capabilities greatly reduces the number of available packages.

Here's another one. It's called concepts3D version 3.0 by CSI. A demo version is available free for download at:

Sorry, no price listed. You'll have to inquire. A means of contact is avaialble at their website.

Can't get much cheaper than GrayTech Software, Inc.'s program CAD X11 at $29.95 (US) plus $10 per year for support! They offer demo, free and pro versions. Here's a link:

OK...last one. It's by CADMAX and it is called SolidMaster and it retails for $295. A 30-day trial version can be downloaded at:
http://www.cadmax.com/
The site mentions 2D and free form solid modeling. Check it out.

BCAD always stops responding and displays send/don't send messages. I have to check other programs.

I found Turbo CAD 9.1 Standard Edition CD-ROM. I wanted to upgrade to latest version but their website only lets me upgrade from version 9.5. I have to get used to the way that Turbo CAD works.
