Recently switched to Acad 2009 Via autodesk inventor suite 2009..... This comes with ACADM and vanilla. Post installation my express tools did not load (vanilla acad) I checked support path and found the cui there. Manually loaded the express menu and the menu loads but the commands are not recognized. For every express menu command I tried I got unknown command in return. DEMANDLOAD is set to 3. Have re-installed twice with no success.

What am I missing?

I use autocad (version 2002) to draw 2D drawings which I then engrave with a rabbit laser engraving unit (model RL-60-9060). The problem I have been experiencing is that in order to engrave these files I have to save my .dwg's as .dxf's which I then import into a program called (laser systems 5.3) when I import these files everything looks fine except for the text which is shifted (only in certen random areas and always to the right) I then have to look at the file very closly and move the text back where it should be, often missing something which makes me have to go through hours of sanding my metal down and repainting it before I can try again. Ive been told that I need to explode the text in autocad to correct the issue, however I have had no success doing this.
any help would be appreciated, I will post the drawings if it would help. If any one could shed some light on this it would make my life much easier and my boss much happier

Hey There,
So I just switched to Autocad 2013 Mac from an old XP version, and I'm having some serious difficulty just starting a basic drawing.
When I open up a new drawing my model space has a very limited size. It's roughly 200 units in any direction, in any from of measurement (inches, cm, etc).
I've tried changes the Limits to very large ones, but that had no effect, and I've tried turning limits off. Also no luck.
Basically, if i try to draw a line or anything that is bigger than what my model space is confined to, the line goes off the screen, and it wont let me scroll or zoom out to find the end of it.
This is seriously driving me batty! If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful. Thanks...

I would like to know if it is possible to create more then one shortcut key profile in acad2011.

Don't know if this was too clear so...

I need more then one acad.pgp file with different configurations that i can load via express => tools any time I want.
Tried to make a copy and name it acad1.pgp, acad2.pgp, etc... but when I start up express tools, cmd editor, the option file => open does not give me the result I was hoping for. Does nothing actually, just allows me to view the shortcut configurations in the particular file. Hope that this explains my predicament :)

Hey everyone,

I've been reading the forum for a while but just decided to sign up because I have been at this problems for countless hours. I am trying to align all of the text inside of a block and have it actually align the text instead of having it keep it original position (like when you use "Justifytext" command).
For example:
We use blocks for fire alarm devices that we insert into drawings. When the devices are inserted they look like this (Middle left):
15CD
TBD
TBD
1/4W
I can double click each line of these texts, have the eattedit window pop up, go to "text options" tab, click the drop down menu for "Justification:" and then choose my justification(middle right); then the text will actually move to align itself with my justification, causing my text to end up like this:
15CD
..TBD (Roughly like this, only perfectly straight vertically on the right hand side)
..TBD (ignore the dots, i had to insert them for the spacing to be correct for
1/4W this example)
When I type "Justifytext", select my block, choose my justification (Middle right), just the snap point moves to that justification without the text actually moving at all, causing my text to end up like this:
15CD
TBD
TBD
1/4W

To save tons of time for myself and my co-workers, is there anyone who has created a lisp file command to quickly do this, or know any one trick pony tactics to overcome this?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

**Edit, this is Autocad version 2011

I have created a linetype with the text GAS OPTION in it. The line is continuous with a break around the text. In a straight line the linetype works fine (breaks around the text etc). However, when I use a polyline and spline the line for a curved line the text aligns with the direction of the line at the start, but when the line bends, the text suddenly changes direction and reads in the opposite direction. It looks like AutoCAD is trying to keep the text upright rather than following the direction of the line. When the text changes direction it also changes its insertion point and overlaps the continuous part of the line. I have 2013 AutoCAD.
Here is the string I used for the linetype.
*GAS_Option_LINE,Gas line ----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION----
A,8,-15,["GAS OPTION",STANDARD,S=2.54,U=0.0,X=-2.35,Y=-1.27],-12

Hi all,

Don't know how or why this has happened, but my AutoCAD has suddenly stopped showing the correct shortcut menu's when I right click. This happens both in 'default mode' and 'edit mode'. All I get is the default menu instead of my customised edit menu.

I've not edited my CUI nor my right click customisation, but when I've checked them, both are as they should be. I just can't work it out. Also, the delete key won't allow be to delete selected objects anymore.

I'm not sure what was the last thing I did before this error occured, but I think at some point I wanted to press the delete key but may have ended up pressing either the insert, end or home key and maybe for 2-3 seconds. Not sure if these would change anything but thought I should mention it.

Is there anyway these may have been disabled, for example a small insignificant icon somewhere?

Any ideas?
