Greetings to all. I am using AutoCad Architecture 2011 and I am in the midst of creating a simple line drawing of a bifold door. I have two lines. Each at opposing 45 degree angles. The objective is to have each line segment equal to half the distance measured between two points. For example; if the door opening is 2' wide each line of the bifold doors should be 1' in length if measured diagonally. The result would be a line, if stretched out, would equal 2'.

I've created a block that can stretch and rotate but I just can't figure out the height to length ratio thing.

Can you help?

Hi!
I would appriciate if someone would help me soloving this problem.
As the first picture presents:
1.Only some of the quadrangle are being crossed with two red lines
2.Numbers, quadrangles and red lines are in separate layers

I need to do the following thing:
1.Make sure that all quadrangles are closed and that each quadrangle has one number inside of that closed area.
2.Get a list of quadrangles that are being crossed over with two red lines (the space between two red lines is the one that counts) (for this example I must get: 500, 501, 505, 506, 507, 508)
3.Find out the area of each given quadrangle in step 2. (for example 500 – 1360.32, 501 – 4056.42, 505 – 5050.03 etc.) and hatch each one of them (it would be nice if I could automatically find out the number of hatched quadrangles – for this example: 6).
So the final result should be: in CAD as in picture 2 with number of hatched objects: 6 and in a file that is excel/notepad readable as in picture 3.
These polylines are imported from other application into autocad for plotting contour purposes. The coincident vertices give problem to lisp program for drawing a cross section profile.
Looks forward to hear from you:lol:.

Hi all,

I have a dynamic block of some door hinges. Depending on the height of the door, depends on the type & quantity of hinges used. I was wondering if it is possible to have a block that detects height? If I insert the hinge block onto my drawing, and snap the base point of the block to the bottom left of the desired door, stretch the pick point to the top, I would like it to automatically change from 2x small hinges (for doors under 312mm high), to 2x large hinges (for doors under 1000mm), and finally to 3x large hinges (for doors over 1000mm)?

I have attached a PDF for visual reference to what I'm talking about.

I have no idea on any 'Lisp/VBA/Scripts' in AutoCAD, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, drafting3.

What I was not aware of when I changed the UCS and WCS while drawing, was that some lines appears as Bottom, and some as topview.. Of course it would be optimal if all my lines and walls and doors was on topview. Because now, when I move objects to lines that are bottomview, the object I am moving dissapears...
So everytime Im moving an object I have to turn off Snapmode.
Is there a fast way to "flatten" or transform all my line to topview or the one and only WCS?
