    You could simply put the text in paper space at the heignt you want. If you want it in model space just use the chspace command.

    You must have both polylines selected. It's not posible to grip-edit a polyline that isn't selected. They may both be part of a group. In that case you can toggle group selection off/on with Ctrl+H....

    No special macro needed with Fillet, no matter what the radius is set to just hold down the shift key when selecting the lines and it will Fillet with a radius of 0.
