One option would be to use the EATTEXT command. The output can be sent to a mdb, xls, cvs or txt file. For instance you could capture the start/end values of X, Y and Z.
Sounds convoluted to me. I can't tell you if that would work or not though.
Have you had any formal training?
Do you have a flat site or are there changes in elevation?
It sounds to me as though you are new to this. Have you taken the opportunity to view the Trial Experience Tutorials posted at the...
The coordinates could be extracted from the drawing and brought into a spreadsheet. Would that at least be a start?
The surface would define the lay of the land so to speak.
The program does work as described by Mr. Sanders. I just tested it myself. I am running AutoCAD 2013 and MS Office 2003. I used the XL_Test.xls file included in the zip file.
The program does...

AUD 2014 apparently does.
Isn't there a button in the lower left hand corner of your screen for both 2D and 3D views?

welldriller: I would not consider that a viable option as Hogfan wants to fill the entire area. AutoCAD is not going to make it magically proportional. Some intervention on the OP's part is...
"...my lines seem to look like arcs..."
If this had read "my arcs look like lines" then I could see where Viewres would be the culprit. Maybe the OP got it backwards?
I think you are not looking at your command line.
Command: spline
Current settings: Method=Fit Knots=Chord
Specify first point or [Method/Knots/Object]: M
Enter spline creation method...
The Block and WBlock commands have been around for quite some time.
You've never heard of the Design Center?
They are shown as a dimension.
Is this a 2D or 3D drawing?
Do you have hardware acceleration enabled or disabled?
Usually people report the opposite problem: arcs and circles looking like they are comprised of line segments.
When you have started the SPLINE command are you given an option to use Fit points or Control vertices?
This problem has been discussed before. One option is to use something called SuperPurge by manusoft (there's a free trial). There is a second option but it takes some work.

Blocks are stored within the drawing they were created in. You can use the Design Center to pull blocks from one drawing into another.
WBlocks are blocks that are written to your hard drive as...
While that may seem like a workable solution remember that it will distort whatever is represented by the larger rectangle. If you can live with the result then fine. If you can't then you would be...
