Geometry Question:

I need to draw a circle (unknown radius) that is tangent to a line at a specific point and tangent to a circle. I don't know if autocad can do this with OTB options. I can't seem to figure this out. see the image below

Here's a file that uses parametric constraints to find the radius of the tangent circle.

 

The radius of the circle that is tangent to the vertical line and the other circle is a reference dimension and will change if any of the dimensions affect the location of the lines or circle are changed. The 0.0000 dimension is used to place the center of the circle on the horizontal line.

Actually, the circle can be drawn without constraints.

 

Draw a circle using the option 3P. The first point on the circle is the Intersection at the point where you want the circle to be tangential, and the other two points are tangents to the vertical line and the existing circle.
