Non Autodesk DWG

I like to use Autocad 2018 program, some days ago I was working in .dwg file and it unexpectedly closed. At opening the file I saw: Non Autodesk DWG. I don’t know how to repair dwg file.

Use the RECOVER command to open the drawing then execute the EXPORTTOACAD command. Save under a new name. Open the drawing. Do you see the same message?

Painter of Education?

Not sure if you're for real or not, but, besides the message "Non Autodesk DWG", what actually happens when the drawing opens?

AFAIK, that message simply means the drawing was not created (last saved?) by an Autodesk application.

I renamed your thread to something more descriptive, AutoCAD Drawing Management & Output > Non Autodesk DWG

Yes, I was hoping to see the date on the original post be something like 05-10-2017

:rofl::rofl: too funny

I've had that happen to me rarely when a drawing closes unexpectedly. Maybe part of the file where the drawing was corrupted was the part where the AutoDesk tag is carried? >>>shrug

Whenever this happens to me I just throw the computer into the car and drive at 88 mph at midnight. Then I get a do-over yesterday.

Am I too suspicious?

Am I the only one expecting a post to turn up with a link to a 'miracle' file recovery programme.

(From that now well known russian software house that seems to specialise in setup spamming).

Aw gee, whatever makes you think that could happen?;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Since the OP has resolved his issue, at least partially, and doesn't seem to be interested in pursuing any further solutions, this thread has been closed in order to discourage any further posting of links to dubious file recovery sites.
