rlcad
I'm trying to draw a 90 deg. arc, upright, i.e. with the start point and center horizontally aligned. I use the ARC command, I specify the start point, then click on Center option, specify the center, then click on Angle. Here it says: Specify angle (hold Ctrl to switch direction). I hold Ctrl but then I'm unable to write "90" either in the Dynamic Input or the command line. Wat can I do?
tzframpton
Do you have Dynamic Input turned on? If so you can type it in there.
rlcad
Do you have Dynamic Input turned on? If so you can type it in there. I do have it. When I said I couldn't I meant that I was holding down Ctrl (to make the angle clockwise) and when I tried to write "90", I got the message: "Do you want to close the command line window?" "Press Ctrl+9 to display it again".
tzframpton
Is there a reason why you have to hold control down? That sub-command switches directions. Is this something you need to do while active in the command?

It does not appear to be possible to enter any angle holding CTRL down, instead you get the corresponding command
rlcad
[For clarity, what I did was: ARC -C -A. Starting from left to right]. Is there a reason why you have to hold control down? As I said, to change directions from clockwise to CCW. I wanted to start the arc from the left to the right. If entering an angle while holding down Ctrl is impossible, why does the program even tell you about holding down Ctrl while specifying the angle? tzframpton
That is definitely interesting. I wonder if there's a way, we're just missing it. I can't get it to go either. -TZ
eldon
Have you tried to enter the angle as -90, without pressing the Ctrl key?
rlcad
Have you tried to enter the angle as -90, without pressing the Ctrl key? Yes; and it works. But then why mislead the user? Anyway, thanks.
Dadgad
Have you tried to enter the angle as -90, without pressing the Ctrl key? That's how I'd do it!
RobDraw
why mislead the user? The option does reverse an arc. Not misleading at all. Maybe not in this particular situation but I've got a feeling there is a way to get it to work and you may not be doing it correctly. I can't test it ATM, but have you tried entering the angle and then pressing Ctrl? With all of the options available to accomplish something this, why are you so quick to find fault with the program? Stevery
It works if you type in the Angle first (Don't ENTER yet!) then hold down the CTRL key then press ENTER.
