    rotate the entire drawing area to 30 degrees from the X-axis?

    already searched the forums but didn't find any except for the 'mean pranks done in ACAD' but of course didn't give me the answers I'm looking for.

    sorry for my noobish question but me heads already getting rusty and i tend to forget how to use commands I seldom use.

    thanks

    Perhaps you are referring to Tools...New UCS?

    type "ucs" "new" "z" "30"
    then click the "View" dropdown menu go to "3d Views" > "Plan Views" > "Current UCS"

    That should be exactly what you're looking to do.

    No, I'm afraid not. See, I need the "entire drawing area" rotated not the UCS only. I know how to rotate the UCS via Z-axis. Problem is, rectangular selection remains orthagonal even if the UCS is rotated.

    I have encountered a drawing file before that had the drawing area rotated even if you set the UCS to 'world'.

    Its almost there but I need a more precise method. I just dunno how to do it in 3dorbit.

    To add to Waggly's good advice;

    Save your UCS (give it a name) so you can switch between it and WORLD, using the UCS or DDUCS command.

    A quicker(?) way to set view to the current UCS is to type PLAN then <enter>.
