Delete Overlapping Circle

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am using AutoCAD LT 2017 for my design. I found that the overkill command only can be used to delete overlapping lines, polylines and arc.

If I have overlapping circle in my design, how do I can delete the overlapping?

Thanks in advance smilie.png

I have moved your thread to the AutoCAD LT Forum.

The OVERKILL in Full 2011 AutoCAD Express Tools deletes circles, if the new command in AutoCAD LT doesn't, you may be stuck doing them manually, since you can't use LISP.

Can you post the drawing?

Nini: When you say "overlapping" do you mean you have two circles of the same size one sitting exactly over the top of the other?

If that is the case then there should be no reason why Overkill whould fail to delete the duplicate circle unless you did something unusual. I know because I tested the command using AutoCAD LT 2014.

Hi ReMark,

After I zoom in the drawing, the circle is not overlapping at the same place. There was ~0.01mm space between the circles. I think that was the cause i cannot use the overkill command because when I try to overlap the circle at exactly the same place, the command works well.

That's why overkill has a tolerance value, there is just no way to decide which of the objects are to be deleted, so you could end up with problems further on.

Yes, now I understand. After playing a while with the tolerance value, the circle can be deleted. Now, my overkill command works well :)
