i have created a new drawing, opened and closed it several times after working on it, but it never shows up in the list of recently opened drawings in the "file" menu. this drawing consists only of imported blocks so far. am i doing something wrong?

What number do you have in the Open File option "Number of recently-used file to list"?
See Tools > Options > Open and Save tab.

I currently have 9 as recent drawing total. I have tried changing this number to 5, 4, etc., but this one drawing refuses to be listed.

try File > Save As and re-write over the drawing.

I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work. Then just for laughs I tried File > Save as...and saved the file with "01" added to the file name. This one works; the drawing is shown in the recent drawing list!
I then saved this new "01" file again under the original name, but once again the file does not show up in the list. So I have a work-around, but not the solution. Oh well, better half a loaf....

I am at home now, so I don't remember the exact title. It's something like "Conveyor Anlage Grundzeichnung". (I'm living and working in Germany). There are no funny characters or weird foreign stuff.
