Change color in VIEWPORT

Hi guys,

 

I have this dilemma. In xref some of the layers in the model tab the color is by-layer. So when it is layout tab and changing the VP Color to color 8. All of the non-bylayer won't change it's color.

 

Can someone help me change this in easy way
