One of the users i support is having problems with autocad lt 2007

Here is the problem "I am trying to calculate areas using AutoCad LT I have had to manually calculate the areas by hand and I find that the AutoCad LT answer does not reflect my manual answers I want the areas to be calculated in meters. Is their any setting that I can change that will provide me with the corrected area in meters."

    Ask the user
"How are you trying to calculate areas in LT?"
The usual approach would be the "area" command, then select a closed object. Or select points around perimeter, which is more error-prone (be careful in selecting points, use onject snaps). Best to create an object using "boundary" command.
If drawing is in mm and you want square meters, pretty easy to divide the area result given by 10^6 (1 million).

    Hello Nick,

You could draw a polyline around the area you want to calculate, once the polyline is closed and still highlighted, click on properties and the area and perimeter will be displayed there. If you are working in mm just divide by 1000000 (1 Million) and this will show m2, or if its only a very small area, say less than 100m2 just look at the first two digits shown and stick your decimal point after them 2 digits... hey presto… same applies less than 1000m2, just put your decimal point after the first 3 digits shown…
