bjenk8100
Is there a difference between using autocad's 3d template from the start to switching to 3d workspace in autocad's 2d template? I am guessing not but i have been stunned in so many other ways. Tnx, Brian
Dadgad
Not that I am aware of, should have all the same functionality.
ReMark
Visually....yes (at the onset). Functionally...no.

ReMark
Either template can be used to create a 3D drawing so it means they function the same. None of my 3D drawings are done using acad3D.dwt. Edited September 12, 2017 by ReMark
Dadgad
Interesting, how are they different functionally? Never mind, I misremembered the original question, so misinterpreted your response. I was thinking the question was along the lines of "are they the same?", and as such, your response surprised me. I never use the acad3D.dwt either, always use a customized .dwt of my own design. Edited September 12, 2017 by Dadgad
bjenk8100
I swear my 3D experience/performance change daily. Never have a problem with 2D but some days functionality is great some days not. I know to not have every snap on and all that but its weird. I think its from swapping back and forth between 3d and drafting spaces, not sure though. 2D is always the same.
bjenk8100
so an answer to my question is that you do not need to use 3D template?
ReMark
There is no rule that says you have to start a 3D drawing using the acad3d.dwt template file.
