It's an express tool, stands for RemoteText. Sorta like fields, before fields were introduced

I assume you have worked out it puts a text file into MTEXT and that you can change some options. However selecting it doesn't produce any properties so I can only assume its not finished yet.

    Default RTEXT: Remote Text

Yes, it's a remote text on the Express Tools.
See an example from Afralisp. http://www.afralisp.net/lisp/rtext.htm

    Ah!
No wonder I don't know what it is.
I've not got flippin' Express Tools!
    Therefore, no Rtext.
Is it worth having, this rtext?
    I'll even pay for it.

    Wait a minit?!
    I have paid for it!
    Where's my Express tools!! (again)

    LOL

Here's a little info on RTEXT and what you can do with it. Although, now that we have Fields, there really isn't much use for it any more.

CAD64: Thanks for the link to the info on RText. We have RText in use on our drawing sheet templates, which we find very useful in creating a plotstamp that is always up to date, especially in tracing exactly which file any given drawing is. I have copied the RText into other drawings that need it, but have no experience in creating/using it, so I have printed out the document in the link you provided.
