    Default Installation Problems

    can anyone help, i can not install inventor on my laptop through installation i get a warning message that reads
    ERROR 1305 reading from d\:inventor\inventor11\samples\models\parts\hairdr yer\hairdryer ipt verify that the file exists and you can access it. and then it asks to retry or cancel installation.
    keep retrying and re-installing but keep getting same message
    can anyone advise what problem is

    Well, the system can't read the file so it seems to me that your cd can be damaged so try to clean it up or try to copy everything from your CD to your C drive and install from there.

    I don't remember if there is an option for this or not but the hairdryer model is just part of the tutorial sample parts. You may be able to skip installing this part of the program by doing a custom install. First though, as zars said, try cleaning the disk or copying it to your HD (although if the disk is corrupted you wont be able to do this either) and if neither of those things work contact your VAR and get them to send you a new disk.
