Hey guys, im using AUTOCAD 2007 and i cant figure out how to add or draw detail views (ex. i want to add a column detail in my floor plan drawing).

You can use viewports in Paperspace...Draw the object in modelspace and all you have to do is arrange everything in paperspace.
Are you trying to draw elevation views or 3D views? Are you having problems drawing the detail or with arranging it in your layout? Do you already have the detail, but don't know how to insert it into your drawing? Can you be a little more specific about what you are trying to do and what problems you are having?
I want to draw a detail of a column (2D) next to my floor plan, unfortunately i dont know how to start it. i tried drawing it in MS and the object appeared soo tiny, so my problem is which space to draw the column detail, and can you please walk me through it cause i am having trouble understanding the viewport concept too. This is my 6th day in studying AUTOCAD (first timer) and your help is really appreciated. TY
Always draw in Model Space at 1:1.
Do you already have your Paper Space layout set up for printer, paper size, plot style, etc? You need to do this first, then set up your main viewport at the scale you want your floorplan to be printed. You should also insert your title block (if applicable). This will give you an idea of how much room you have left, on the sheet, for your column detail and any notes you may need to add. Your column detail will be in a second viewport at a different scale from your main viewport.
Check out the help files and read up on Layouts, MVIEW, MVSETUP and Viewports. Then come back with any questions you may have.
