converting a 2D drawing into 3D

Autocad 2000 - I have a 2D technical drawing showing front,plan and end view. Can I convert this to a 3D solid and 'orbit' it?

If so how to go about it?

Sorry wrong, and I ain't a millionaire but converting it would just mean using the 2D objects as sources for extrudes or revolves or other shapes.

I do it all the time with kids in my classroom.

They are NOT millionaires !

You can do it and accurately too.

Pay attention to details in your 2d dwg. and as Mr. T said, according to your dwg, extrude, revolve, substract, union, etc.

A simple cube or simple tutorial, maybe. A very detailed building and piece of equipment, I doubt it.

I don't know of anyone that easily can make the magenta model ( espeically if the modeller doesn't already have a feel for the end result ) from the (2) yellow elevations and (1) cyan plan view.

Programable conversions just haven't been up to the task. It still takes a fairly talented CADer. My $0.02.

you can rotate The Image and even do a Section Thru This, too

you will probably need to download the VIEWER at IGC homepage Link
which is listed and linked at the BOTTOM of the PAGE, do That 1st and

I tried to link you posted. In downloading and installing the viewer, I received more security warnings and non certified warnings they I've ever seen. I said 'No, Thank You.'

i am running This application behind a Firewall right now
and i am not having any difficulty or anything unusual activity

have had it installed for about 5-6 weeks and so far its good to go

sorry about That, i didnt know That was happening
but there is no nothing that is alarming when using it

behind ZoneAlarm i would know if something was moving
There may be other Apps i am always willing to try something

else, too
