Today the Mount. St. Helens in Washington State just North of Portland Oregon decided to spout some steam and capture attention. The USGS has no idea on what if anything further will occur. I remember the first eruption in 1980 as I was in Spokane Washington which took a great deal of the ash clouds impacting everything even blocking the sun for sometime. I will never forget wearing the face masks to prevent breathing ash and the surreal look of it all.
