Default How do I create a custom hatch pattern?

I was wondering how to create a custom hatch pattern. Can you help me?

I know that there are hatch pattern programs out there, but I don't have the money for the program! Is there a way to create a pattern without that specific program.

Or is there anyone out there that would share hatch pattern with other CADD personnel?

    Please help!!!!!

    Bit of a tricky one.....

I haven't made any custom hatch patterns for years, so I'm a bit rusty on it. However, if you look up Help - hatch patterns - create...you'll get an idea. Also check out the file "acad.pat" for more samples.

    According to the Help menu
"You can also define your own hatch pattern using the current linetype with the User Defined Pattern option of the Hatch and Gradient dialog box, or you can create more complex hatch patterns."

Help Doesn't explain what it takes to create a hatch pattern.

If i wanted to create a wood grain hatch, line types aren't much good.

    if they are please explain.

P.S. I greatly thank you in advance for trying to help.

    Go to your help menu......

    hatch patterns, defining custom patterns

Then go to bottom of the page......click on

Overview of Hatch Pattern Definitions in the Customization Guide

See if that helps, if not...get back to us.

In a nutshell, I create 3D models from the client's CAD files or design sketches which I then use to produce high quality rendered images. Click on the link in my signature to view my portfolio. I'm always looking for work, so let me know if you need any custom models or renders. :)

Have you tried the Express Tools Superhatch command? You can also go to Cadalyst.com and get the Hatchmaker lisp routine. It's in the 2005 Code Archives in the October section. http://new.cadalyst.com/code/
