The day I can come into work and plug myself into cad and just think about what I need it to do and it gets done, that will be the happiest day of my life. That or voice activated drafting would be cool too.

Yeah go voice tried it once about 15 years ago and it was great you could swear at it !@#$ and all kinds of stuff like that it meant something, you spoke the command a couple of times and the computer recorded it for a particular program. Interesting that it never caught on ?

i would not like either system personally, i can imagine coming to work plugging in my jack plug and sitting doing nothing but thinking, and boy would my drawing look strange having pictures of fishing boats and motorbikes on them where i had slipped into a day dream not too mention the night befores adventures hmmm not a sight i would want the office to view, as for voice if you work in a busy design office you could have upto 10 people drawing at once imagine the noise unless everyone was locked in sound proofed room ahhhhhh a padded cell at work NO thank you, also on a more practical note what about those poor people who have speach trouble or impederments. but to answer the OP question not really excited about 2008 don't think there will be much in there for me this time around.

Not excited about 2008 in the least bit. Still paying for the upgrade to 2007 and trying to learn all the new features and nuances of the program. Why don't they (AutoDesk) just fix the bugs in the latest version before adding more features. AutoCAD is getting just like Micrsoft Office...bloatware.

I'm still using 2006. We have 07 on a few computers at school and there was a few things I didn't like about it like the built in pdf and it would lock up every time I had a large raster attached and tried to do some digitizing for background info on draft plans.
So basically 2008 doesn't interest me. With most software I find it takes a year for the bugs to get worked out. With autocad they're pushing another version with new features by then. It can be frustrating.

    Thanks

In a nutshell, I create 3D models from the client's CAD files or design sketches, which I then use to produce high quality rendered images. Click on the link in my signature to view my portfolio. I'm always looking for work, so let me know if you need any renders. :)

I'm with you. The annotation scale looks great and also the ability to set layer properties per viewport. Can't wait to get it. I guess we're the only ones though.

    Technically speaking, great!

    Financially speaking, not so great.
