I have a version of AutoCAD 2000 commercial that I have never used or installed. I attempted to sell it on ebay to raise some money. After four days a Law Firm in the USA working on behalf of Autodesk removed the software. They said that if I had read the terms and conditions when I installed it I would of read that it was non transferable. Since I didn't install or use the software this is lost on me! I bought it but now cannot sell it![]()
There are still newer versions of the software for sale, which I find odd. It seems that whilst you can sell AutoCAD 2002 or AutoCAD 2004 you cant sell 2000! Its ridiculous its not even in production anymore!!! So now I have a fully boxed AutoCAD 2000 that is just going to sit on my shelf for the rest of its life.
Corporations SUCK!![]()

I don't know where you're located (USA?), but here is a tip from a Dallas TX reseller (and I was told to not mention any names). It costs $35 to go to the county hall and get a business started with a name of your choice. Then you sell your "business", which includes your licenced copy of ACAD. Since the whole business is sold, not just ACAD, it is legal and allowed by Autodesk.

Have a look at this thread,it is annoying though, youd expect you could resell what youve purchased!
reselling AutoCAD
Read the EULA, you have not purchased any software. It is still property of AutoDesk. Read any suscessful software company's EULA and it will be the same. You only bought the right to use said software, not to actually own it. Same with Apple, MS, Adobe and so on. Nothing really new here. Some companies actually fight the re-selling more than others and perhaps the wording is a little different. If you by a new PC with Windows on it (OEM) you cannot transfers that copy of windows to another machine. Sure it sucks but what can you do except do the sell company route which sounds like a good ideaOriginally Posted by hyposmurf
