    Default Leader - Mtext issues

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

At one time in my life I was a happy camper. I was able to just fly through AutoCAD without too many speed bumps. But as is life, I became too familiar with my way of working. Now something horrible has happened and I feel as useless as a cat driving an 10 wheeler. When I use qleader or "le" as I like to type it in 2007, the Mtext edit box does not come up anymore. I went into Leader Settings and set the "Second Segment Angle Constraint" to horizontal on the "Leader Line & Arrow" tab. That is all I have touched, and cannot find anywhere to get my text box back. on the Annotation tab Mtext is chosen as Annotation Type. I am at a loss here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried those options, it just copies the last used annotation. Which it is better than me just right clicking out of the command like I usually do

Thats what I used to do too. Now when I do that, I click right out of the command. I need to figure this out.

    Here's the procedure:

    QLEADER
Specify first leader point, or [Settings] <Settings>: Place 1st point
Specify next point: Place 2nd point
Specify next point: Place 3rd point
Specify text width <0">: Hit Enter
Enter first line of annotation text <Mtext>: Hit Enter
You should now have your Mtext Editor

there's a SETVAR command for leaders - which determines whether they have tails etc

sorry I can't remember what it's called, and can't look on this machine - but somebody else may be able to help out if I've jogged any memories

Check out your AutoCAD Preferences/Options dialogue box. Type "PR" or "OP". Under the "User Preferences" tab, look at the Shortcut menus options. Maybe your machine has defaulted to the right-click/repeat command option. I don't know if this will help, but it might be the option that is creating the problem. These things can be just plain confounded!
Did you hear about the drafter who died? He couldn't draw his breath.
