In autoCAD 2006 I used the FLATTEN command... until I found out that it causes lost of precission. Mybe in 2007 the bug is fixed.
Or try the FLATSHOT command -I have read that it is for this kind of jobs.

If I have drawn a 3D poly line, is there any command that will allow me to turn it into a plane? I was planning on appling a material to it. Any ideas?

It's nice to be nice, but sometimes is nicer to be evil!.

Hmm I tried flatshot, but it seems that is used just for creating blocks or redefining existing blocks, hmmm
I use AutoCAD 2006 so it is just an opinion. Can you explode the block created by FLATSHOT? After that POLYEDIT to bind together the individual lines.
Does FLATSHOT redefine blocks?

I tried edge surf but it will only let me create a a sqaure plane. I need to be able to select the 4 corners of an object and turn it into plane. Is there a way to do it in architecture 08'
Can you post the drawing, or a screen shot of what you're trying to do?

I just figured it out, I can draw the object and use REGION and turn it into the plane I need. I would like to post a screen shot, but I don't know how![]()

Cut the crap.....explode the poly....then the next step is to select any object from that poly (PEDIT), then join the whole lot back together. If it fails to do what you want......then sue me.....![]()

Try "pface" it lets you make a plane up of multiple points but they must be on a true Plane.
