By hand unfortunately. In other words, there are no commands like that in ACAD. You have to MOVE an object to another one with basic ACAD commands. OSNAPS is far and away the easiest way to accomplish this.

This might sound easy to most of you but how do i create assemblies in AutoCAD? Ive Been using Inventor for so long now that i seem to have forgotten how to perform the simplest tasks in AutoCAD. The main questions is how do i constrain?

I use to use the ALIGN command on most cases
It's nice to be nice, but sometimes is nicer to be evil!.

I've tried the ALIGN command, but always ran into more problems. It will definitely align two surfaces, but you still frequently need to go back and move one with OSNAPS to get it right. I'll admit I haven't tried Align since 2006, so it might have improved.

I use 2006 and usually I place the solids in the right place from the first try.
