Hi!
I recently received some map data which I was told would be a file format compatible with ArcGIS. The file format of the data is .dsd and I can only find reference to this file format associated with AutoCAD, here's the questions:
What is a .dsd file?
Is it a format created by AutoCAD?
Is it some sort of compressed file?
Do they contain viewable data? or just reference data?
If I owned a copy of AutoCAD would I be able to view the map data?
The file is 15Mb in size, if that helps?
Hopefully someone will be able to help me out?
Tim

Ok, thanks. Wasn't sure where was the appropriate board to post to.
Have you ever come across the .dsd file format?
I did some digging about and found the info you posted over in the other thread, but I was still non the wiser, I was wondering if anyone could clarify just:
What is a .dsd file?
and,
Would it contain viewable data?
Thanks,
Tim
If a mod would like to lock/delete which ever thread is inappropriately placed that'd be good, thank you.![]()

You can create a .dsd file during the PUBLISH process. It's just a collection of data pertaining to the drawings you are publishing to dwf or plotter so that next time you need to Publish, you can just select the .dsd file, using the +PUBLISH command, without having to actually open the drawings. The .dsd file is basically just a link to the drawing files, it does not contain viewable drawing data.
