I can't extrude an object

I am trying to Extrude and object but it keeps on saying "Cannot sweep or extrude a self-intersecting curve".

Self intersecting usually means its overlapping somewhere or your tappered extrude hits a zero

What type of extrude are you using?

Post a screenshot of the base object and path so we can better see what its doing?

Hi.....I simply exploded, then regioned again, and it extruded ok.....(dont ask why im online at 3.21 am)

Thanks Amanda I just need to extrude it about 2' straight so I can subtract another object from it.

That is most likely the shape of your 2d object. go through it with a fine tooth comb and make sure none of your lines overlap.
