I'm guessing there is an administrative reason for it, but I'm tying myself in knots trying to figure out what it could possibly be

the only time I've done that, I've put it in a sticky and deleted it from view so I could find it easily when needed for splitting a thread that needed a new OP at a later date

This one's got me stumped though

    AutoCAD Tips and Tricks

Autodesk - Discussion Groups - Index

    Autodesk User Group International

    CAD Forum

HyperPics: AutoCAD Tips, Tutorials, Customization and Much More... AutoCAD 2006 and AutoCAD 2006 LT

There are a few others I have not listed here, but they are a lot less relevant than what has been asked for.
Hopefully, there is quite a lot of information contained at the links I have just posted, and that if only one person finds them useful, then great.

For UK users I would suggest looking at fastrack at
    www.fastrackcad.com
It has links to many UK manufacturers sites with all the drawings in a standard format. Very very useful.
