    Since you want to attach it to something, your best bet is to apply it as a texture. With mapping you can then rotate and size the object as you wish.

    or if you want two colours (the wall and the poster) draw your cyclinder to make the wall then draw a rectangle and extrude it (make the rectangle the size of the poster) move the poster shape into the wall shape, using the interfernce checking command you can create a solid the shape of the intersection of the two (you can do it with intersection too but you need make sure you dont delete your originals) any with the shape created you can then subtract the original poster shape from the cyclinder wall to leave the poster sized square with a rounded surface, then attach your seperate materials to each part

    Yedan, just want to make sure I follow you;
    You're suggesting extruding a rectangle for the purpose of creating a face on which to attach the poster? Would it not be easier to just IMPRINT a rectangle?

    I was actually genuinely curious. I've had issues IMPRINTING onto curved surfaces. It seems that if the geometry to be imprinted isn't completely co-planar with the the object to be imprinted you get zilch for results.
    If you know how to do it, I'd sure appreciate an explanation and I'm sure it'd help with what vector's doing.

    ah well in that case i cannot really help as i rarely use imprint for anything, i almost always use the method i described. i have tested a few examples and it does seem tho that unless you are imprinting onto a flat surface its not really much use. ,
    unless someone can teach this old dog a new trick i shall continue with my old school methods

    of course the method i described doesn't give an accurate size of poster just the visual apparence due to the curvature of the wall.

    I can think of some round-about ways to create an imprintable object, but I don't think it'd be any faster than what you're doing, so I'll sit and wait with at the front of the class.

    I can help you to project line-graphic segments (i.e. 2D-polylines consisting of linear segments) an conical or cylindrical surfaces.

    Just to make sure, but are talking about using the IMPRINT command? I can create the geometry just fine myself after a little work. What I'm looking for is some shortcuts.
