Default FATAL ERROR: Out of memory - shutting down

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I am using Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007 on an IBM PC with a 2.39ghz P4 that has 1GB RAM and 256MB of Video memory. I have set my sweap file to 3x the amount of RAM. The error occurs when I am trying to add a layout from another file. Any suggestions?

AutoCAD crashes when ACTUAL physical memory gets down to within 100Mb. I have seen that virtual memory has no effect on it. We use 2GB of RAM and when I run some large drawing conversion programs, if it uses approx 1.85 - 1.9 gb of RAM, it will crash. We also run Unigraphics and it will run at almost 3gb of vitual memory usage. Go figure.

This can be caused by a number of issues. From corrupted fonts or text to major memory leaks. Can you zip and post the file?

Check Autodesk, I think they have a fix for that.

Are you copying the layout from clipboard or through DesignCenter?

    Hey, Ritch,

You gotta start looking at the dates of old threads. Yeah, maybe you have an answer for them, but the reality, most of the participants no longer exist here.

All you are doing is bringing old threads up to now. And confusing everyone. If it is relevant, then go for your life.
