can you be more specific? what kind of problems are you running into?

if you know how to layout a roof truss design i'd make it as a 2D object and then extrude everything... but without the specifics i'm just as clueless as everyone else is going to be...

I just want to roof a simple design that has two gables and one hipped section. If you could tell me the intricacies involved i would greatly appreciate, For i have no idea whatsoever. Over the years ive been using the traditional 3dface command, but theres a new tool on the design pallette window which allows u to build a roof instantly. how do you build a roof in ADT 2007 using this tool? I hope i have made more sense.
    Thanks so much

Start the ROOFADD command and Pick each corner of the building and ADT will draw a hip roof on all sides.

To convert the hip to a gable, click on the grip where the two hips and ridge intersection. Drag the grip all to way to the gable end and pick a point. This should change the end to a gable. Repeat on other end.

Steps to covert the endwall to a gable wall.
Select the end wall(s), right click and select Modify roof line.
Then select Auto Project, then select the roof. Your end walls should extend up to the roof.

profcad: can you go a little more into detail about that command?

More specifically on how to control the pitch and overhang

It is all done through the Properties Windows. Start the command ROOFADD then make your adjustments in the Property Window.

You can also use the properties command after the roof is in place.
