    Default help with nodes!

    How can i clean the nodes in a dxf drawing with autocad?

    What are the "nodes"? In AutoCAD click one of them and see the properties window.

    The drawing is showing up alot of points and its time consuming to clean it up with my laser software.im new to autocad and i dont know much.

    I could only open it with Inventor and did not see anything. Can you save it as a 2000 or 2005? I think you need to go to Layer Manager and freeze the layer Defpoints.

    I have converted it to 2004 (using TruConvert) and opened it with 2006 and all I can see is 139 splines. Not a single node in sight.

    If SLW210's recommendation does not work (which is what I would check first), look at the point style in the Format pull-down menu. Maybe those "nodes" are points instead of defpoints.

    That was going to be my next suggestion.

    It is probably defpoints, that really seems to get a lot of folks when they start out.

    Heres the drawing in Autocad 2002 format..i tired to freeze the layer and the drawing disappeared.
