    Default Gulp! Website security

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I know how to build a website, which I've just done for my company, however I don't know a thing about internet security.
Although I don't want to sell anything over the internet, is there any problems I should be aware of before I put this website out there?

i believe i am right in saying that your web site will only be as secure as your hosts server, its is your host that should have security installed to stop hackers ect, as you are not selling anything i assume the site is purely information then your only real worry is the hacking of you host server which i assume will be supplied by your ISP.

Security isn't too much of an issue if you only have a static HTML site. If you are using scripting like PHP, then that's different.

Basic things you should consider: don't use email links for contact purposes unless you want lots of spam - use a contact form with CAPTCHA instead.

As yedan has said, security is really down to your host but always make sure you keep a backup copy of your site locally just in case.
Tip: Please do not PM or email me with CAD questions - use the forums, you'll get an answer sooner.

    Hi Skeeps

I trust you are well and in good spirits. I posted a question a few days ago http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16689 and NBC came to the rescue on a white charger.

Any way remembering that you are into web building I thought you may wish to have a look if you haven’t already.

    Regards Alan

It is said that you never to old to learn, but for someone like me who is as old as a young conker tree it takes a lot longer.

Looks good Alan. There seems to be a bit to much border on the left, at least in my browser which is firefox 1.5.
