If it is not to complex a shape... make a copy and explode it. then throw an edgesurf mesh over it. Very simple and quick for non-complex shapes.

Hi,
Don't know if this is possible. I have some building foot prints I've extruded to make them 3d solids. I would like to import them to another program that takes DXF Polygon Mesh, DXF Polyface Mesh or DXF 3D Face formats.
How could I do this?
Using Acad 2002.
TIA, Rob

Thanks, but unfortunately they are a little too complex for that method.

Sorry... can't help you. Never really had to convert a solid to a mesh, but if there is a way one of the gurus in here should know how.

Can you not just export out as either a .3ds or r12 .dxf? You can export a .3ds file and then re-insert it into ACAD and it will be a 3D face object.Originally Posted by Totes100
Just tried an example and it worked pretty well but not sure if it will work for your other application.
