does that solve the problem or is this going to be more complex?

I have been trying to create some new line types for the office library here for fire ratings, fence lines, utilities etc. but am not succeeding at any rate. I am using the "-linetype" command to create a new line type. but when it comes to imputing data at the prompt screen, I attempt to insert a line type using the system which is described in the help menu, but I keep getting this "Invalid number or bad continuation." notification. Can i get some insight as to how I would impute my data here. An example may help. Just as if i was using a dashed line with 45min inserted into the line of x. EX: - 45min ---- 45min ---- 45min ---- or for fence lines ------ X ------ X ------ X --Thanks for any advice in advance.

Here try this you can double click and open it and see how it looks, load it in CAD.
if want to add more just copy paste below the fence and make a library of line types keep going down the line and change the fance name to what ever and the text between the dashes or what ever fits your needs.
that's what i do at work, just save a copy for you.![]()

Hey again. I am looking to see if there is a way I can create a line type now using drawings with in the line type. The only way I could explain this would be to picture an example of a dash dot line type. now for example, say instead of a dot, i am trying to replace it with a happy face or bulls-eye or any little image drawn in cad. In attempting to use the express tools, i end up creating a long dash followed by two short dashes. Is it possible to create a line type in this manner?
thread bookmarked for FAQ (as it doesn't seem to have come up on the search last time)
