    Default Diagonal Lines

Why is it when i draw diagonal lines they have jagged lines rather than smooth edges? I wouldnt draw a jagged line on the board!

    Can this be altered?

    Thanks for help!

    What is your screen resolution?
Go to your Windows Start menu and go to "Control Panel" and then to "Display" to open your Display Properties window. Click on the "Settings" tab and check your "Screen Resolution". I have mine set to 1680x1050 pixels. That might be too high for your monitor though. Try bumping yours up a little from where it's currently set. The more pixels your monitor has to work with, the less jagged your diagonal lines will look.

Also, within Autocad, type VIEWRES at the command line and check the setting. It may be set to 100. If so, bump it up to 1000. I believe the maximum is 10,000, but I don't recommend setting it that high. I keep mine at 1000.

also note that even if the line looks jagged on the screen it will be smooth when printed...all the geometry that is displayed on autocad are simply representation of vector data which is not dependant on resolution/pixels to describe it...

it would tax the cpu too much if it had to always calculate anti-alaised (non jagged) line, circles, curves etc...
